The personality behind Dr. Passion

Dr Sok-Ho Trinh is a multifaceted-individual who describes himself as a Passionologist.

He is a social and behavioural academic scientist, an experienced international business executive and a motivational life coach whose purpose is to help individuals to discover their passion and live a successful life with purpose.  

As a behavioural change practitioner, Sok-Ho has designed, trained, and delivered research-based organisational interventions and coaches individuals, leaders, and organisational teams around the world. 

His academic qualifications include BSc, MSc, MBA, CPCC, PCC, PGCE in Learning and teaching in Higher Education and PhD in Positive Psychology and Leadership Studies. He has trained in ORSC systemic and relationship coach and in evidence-based coaching. Sok-Ho is a Certified Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher (CMMT) and is certified in LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® facilitation, in psychometrics for individuals/leadership: Hogan HPI/HDS/MVPI and for groups/teams: HPTA and Hogan 360. 

Sok-Ho was born in France to Chinese parents from Cambodia. He speaks eight languages, has lived on 3 continents, and is now based in London, UK with his family.

His motto in life is Live with Purpose and Passion.

His Inspiration and his background

Inspired by humanistic values inherited from his family who survived the Cambodian genocide, he initiated the Passionology movement to unleash people’s purpose and passion. 

As an academic scientist, his interdisciplinary research interests include motivational constructs such as Passion in leadership, Positive Psychology Coaching and Happiness in the Performing Arts. 

He completed his PhD at University of East London exploring Passion in Leadership.  As part of his studies, Sok-Ho investigated the Institute of Passion’s 4P model©, and the Passionate Leadership In Organisation (PLIO) concept. He also contributed to chapters in the book Positive Psychology in practice plus, has authored and co-authored articles in Positive Psychology, Positive Leadership, and Positive Psychology Coaching. 

As an academic, Sok-Ho was a faculty member at the University of East London in the MSc in Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology (MAPPCP). He lectured at the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo (UAEH) in Mexico and at IE University/IE Business in Spain. He is presently a Senior Lecturer (equivalent to an Associate Professor in the US, Maître de conference in France) at the University of Roehampton where he teaches courses which cover leadership, psychology and human resources management. Sok-Ho is also a founding faculty member at the Institute of Positive Psychology Coaching. 

As a business leader, he has worked in retail and consumer analytics and data science industry for global corporates for 14 yrs and as an advisory board member and a mentor to social enterprises. 

As a professional artiste, Sok-Ho has worked in musical theatre, screen acting, voice acting. He also wrote and recorded a mini album. He trained at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, the Actors Centre, in acting and musical theatre in the UK and in France. He is represented by Nic Knight Management.
